I bought these snake gaiters for a hike I took in a nearby state forest, which is known to have snakes. I was really expecting these to be uncomfortable. Mainly because I get warm very quickly and I thought these would over heat me. I was cool and comfortable with them on, even with long pants on top.

They were easy to put on. I will note, be sure to remove the plastic protectors from around the metal buckles. If you leave it on, the buckles won't hold well. Also make sure it's pushed down over your shoes. I had it up too far at first and I couldn't secure it under my boots. Moving it down my leg a bit helped me to secure them.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and how comfortable they are. Keep in mind they are still stiff, so it's not like you won't know they're there, but still comfortable enough to wear them for an extended period of time.

I’ve been using my wife’s black diamond trekking poles that are $$$. She picked these out for a gift and I love them. Actually marginally lighter than the BDs even though they have a longer extension and larger grips (hers are designed for small framed individuals).

Accessories are great, even though they will probably get put away and never used.

Grip and strap are more comfortable than expected given the price.

The locking mechanism doesn’t require a tool and seems sturdy

Long term hiking in the mountains will determine longevity. And I’ll follow up if their value falls due to extended use.
